CDE Wire - an NCIC-style terminal for records and CAD

Wire is the records, CAD and map terminal, laid out like the NCIC workstations it is modelled on. It is the console for people whose shift is mostly lookups.

Wildcard search across every registry

Search with * and ? across names, plates, vehicles, boats and businesses. A partial plate or half a surname returns something, which is the situation a lookup usually starts from.

Registries beyond people and cars

Aircraft, boats, firearms, property and evidence each have their own registry, and each returns into the same result list. A stolen-vehicle hit shows on the wire alongside the rest.

Reports that link to what they are about

Attach civilians and vehicles from records to a report, and it auto-links the CAD call number it came from. The involvements grid on a person opens the reports they appear in.

The same data as every other console

Wire is a view of the same database as the MDT, dispatch and CDE Flex. Nothing here is a separate copy that can drift.
