CDE Flex - a message-center workstation for records
Flex is one of the consoles CDE CAD ships. It lays the CAD and records system out the way a message-center terminal does: sign on to a workstation, take what is in the queue, and file it without moving between screens.
Sign on to a workstation, not just an account
Flex opens on a workstation sign-on. Who is on which terminal is part of the record, so a report carries the position that filed it rather than only the person.
One screen for the queue and the file
Calls, reports and lookups sit in the same frame. The layout is dense on purpose: it is built for somebody working a shift, not for somebody being shown a demo.
The same data as every other console
Flex is a view, not a separate system. A report filed here appears in the MDT, in records and in CDE Wire, because all of them read the same database.
