Vehicle Classification Guide for FiveM CAD

Complete vehicle classification guide for FiveM CAD systems. Learn vehicle classes, registration types, stolen vehicle procedures, and fleet management.

Vehicles are central to FiveM roleplay. Understanding vehicle classifications helps officers identify vehicles accurately during lookups, process registrations efficiently, and manage department fleets. This guide covers the complete vehicle classification system used in CDE CAD.

Standard Vehicle Classes

Sedan (Class S)

Four-door passenger vehicles including compact, mid-size, and full-size sedans. The most common vehicle class on FiveM servers.

SUV/Crossover (Class U)

Sport utility vehicles and crossovers ranging from compact to full-size. Popular for both civilian and law enforcement use.

Coupe/Sports (Class C)

Two-door vehicles and sports cars including performance vehicles. Often associated with racing and high-speed pursuits.

Truck/Pickup (Class T)

Pickup trucks from compact to heavy-duty. Includes civilian work trucks, department utility vehicles, and tow trucks.

Motorcycle (Class M)

Two-wheeled motor vehicles including cruisers, sport bikes, and police motorcycles. Special licensing requirements may apply.

Van/Commercial (Class V)

Vans ranging from minivans to cargo vans and commercial delivery vehicles. Includes ambulances and specialty vehicles.

Emergency Vehicle Classifications

Patrol Vehicle (LEV)

Marked and unmarked law enforcement vehicles. Includes patrol sedans, SUVs, and specialty vehicles equipped with emergency lighting and MDT.

Ambulance (EMS)

Emergency medical service vehicles classified by type. All equipped with medical equipment for patient care and transport.

Fire Apparatus (FD)

Fire department vehicles including engines, trucks, rescues, and command vehicles. Largest vehicles on the road with right-of-way privileges.

Unmarked/Plainclothes (UC)

Unmarked law enforcement vehicles for investigations, surveillance, and undercover operations. Registered to department but without visible markings.

Registration and Status Types

Active Registration

Vehicle registration is current and valid. The vehicle is legally authorized to operate on public roads.

Expired Registration

Registration has lapsed past renewal date. Operating with expired registration is a citable offense. CAD flags this automatically.

Suspended Registration

Registration administratively suspended due to unpaid fines, insurance lapse, or other regulatory issues.

Stolen

Vehicle reported stolen by the registered owner. Stolen flag appears prominently in plate lookups. BOLO is automatically generated.

Impounded

Vehicle towed and impounded by law enforcement. CAD tracks impound location and reclamation process.

Civilian Registration Process

Step 1: Character Association

The vehicle must be registered to a character (persona) in the CAD system with proper identification on file.

Step 2: Vehicle Details

Enter vehicle make, model, year, color, and VIN. The vehicle spawn code may also be recorded for FiveM reference.

Step 3: License Plate Assignment

A license plate number is assigned. Plates can be auto-generated or custom-entered. Becomes the primary search identifier.

Step 4: Insurance Verification

Proof of insurance is recorded. Operating without insurance is a citable offense. CAD flags uninsured vehicles during checks.

Step 5: Registration Activation

Once verified, registration is activated. The vehicle appears in the CAD database and can be looked up by officers.

Fleet Management Features

Department Vehicle Roster

Track all vehicles assigned to each department including vehicle number, status, assigned officer, mileage, and maintenance schedule.

Vehicle Assignment Tracking

Log which officer is assigned to which vehicle each shift. Creates accountability and helps with damage reporting.

Maintenance Logging
