RP Unit Management & Status Tracking
Master unit management and status tracking for your FiveM roleplay server. Learn how CDE CAD handles officer status codes, unit assignments, and real-time availability tracking.
In real law enforcement, knowing the status and location of every unit is essential for effective operations. The same principle applies to FiveM roleplay. Without proper RP unit management, dispatchers have no visibility into who is available, supervisors cannot track their officers' activities, and the overall operational picture is fragmented and unreliable. CDE CAD provides comprehensive unit management and status tracking tools that give dispatchers, supervisors, and officers themselves clear visibility into the department's operational posture at all times.
Status Codes and Transitions
CDE CAD's unit status system is built around configurable status codes that track an officer's current activity. Standard status codes include Available (ready for assignment), En Route (traveling to a call), On Scene (at a call location), Busy (handling non-dispatch activity), and Out of Service (unavailable). Administrators can customize these status codes to match their department's specific operational language, adding codes like Code 6 for investigations or Code 7 for meal breaks.
Officers update their status through the MDT interface with a single click, and the change propagates instantly to all dispatch screens and supervisor views. Status transitions are timestamped and logged, creating a complete activity record for each unit throughout their shift. This activity log shows when an officer went on duty, what calls they responded to, how long they spent on each call, and when they went off duty. Supervisors can review this data to assess officer productivity and identify operational patterns.
The status system also supports automatic status transitions triggered by dispatch actions. When a dispatcher assigns a unit to a call, the unit's status can automatically change to En Route. When an officer marks themselves arrived at a call location, their status updates to On Scene. These automated transitions reduce the manual effort required to keep status information current and ensure that the dispatch board always reflects reality.

Supervisor Tools and Oversight
Supervisors have access to enhanced unit management tools that provide operational oversight beyond what dispatchers see. The supervisor dashboard shows department-wide statistics including total units on duty, average response times, call load distribution, and units approaching overtime thresholds. These metrics help supervisors make real-time decisions about resource allocation, overtime authorization, and patrol strategy adjustments.
Panic button functionality is integrated into the unit management system. When an officer activates their panic button through the MDT, all dispatchers and supervisors receive an immediate alert with the officer's identity and last known location. The system automatically changes the officer's status to Emergency, visually distinguishing them on all dispatch screens and triggering protocol-specific response procedures. This critical safety feature ensures that officer emergencies receive immediate attention.
"Unit management in CDE CAD gives us complete visibility into our department's operations. Knowing exactly who is where and what they are doing at all times transforms how we manage resources and respond to incidents. It is the operational backbone of our entire server."
Shift Management and Duty Logging
CDE CAD's unit management extends to shift management and comprehensive duty logging. Officers clock on and off duty through the CAD, which records their total shift time, calls handled, reports written, and overall activity level. This data supports department administration tasks like payroll tracking in economic roleplay systems, performance evaluations, and staffing analysis. Shift reports can be generated automatically at the end of each watch, summarizing the department's activity for that period.
Historical duty data allows department leadership to analyze staffing patterns over time. Which days and times have the most officer coverage? When are there staffing shortages? How does call volume correlate with available units? These insights help server administrators plan recruitment, schedule events, and ensure that their community always has adequate emergency services coverage during peak activity periods.
