RP Live Map & GPS Unit Tracking System
Explore real-time live map and GPS unit tracking features for roleplay. Track unit positions, call locations, geofencing, map layers, and zone management with CDE CAD.
Situational awareness is everything in emergency services — knowing where your units are, where incidents are happening, and how resources are distributed across the map is fundamental to effective dispatch operations. CDE CAD's live map system brings real-time GPS tracking and interactive mapping to your roleplay community, transforming how dispatchers manage calls and how supervisors oversee operations. Every unit's position updates in real time, every active call appears as a map marker, and every zone boundary is clearly defined.
Real-Time Unit Position Tracking
CDE CAD integrates directly with your FiveM server to pull real-time player positions and display them on an interactive map. Each on-duty unit appears as a blip with their callsign, current status, and department affiliation. Police units show in one color, fire in another, and EMS in a third — all instantly distinguishable at a glance. Dispatchers can hover over any unit to see detailed information including their current assignment, time on duty, and recent activity.
Position updates happen in near real-time with configurable refresh intervals. For most communities, updates every two to five seconds provide a smooth tracking experience without overwhelming bandwidth. The map automatically centers and zooms to show all active units, though dispatchers can manually pan and zoom to focus on specific areas. Unit trails can be enabled to show recent movement paths, which is particularly useful for tracking pursuits or monitoring patrol routes.
The tracking system respects permissions and operational security. Undercover units can be hidden from the general dispatch map while remaining visible to supervisors. Off-duty officers don't appear on the map at all. And units operating in sensitive locations can have their positions temporarily masked with the click of a button.
Call Location Mapping
Dynamic Call Markers
Call locations appear with priority-coded colors and type-specific icons that update in real time as calls progress through their lifecycle.
Blip Integration
Native FiveM blip synchronization ensures that in-game markers and CAD map positions stay perfectly aligned across all views.
Configurable Map Layers
Toggle visibility of different data layers including units, calls, zones, patrol routes, and points of interest for a clean view.
Zone Management
Define geographic zones for patrol districts, jurisdictions, and response areas with custom boundaries and automatic unit assignment.
Geofencing and Zone Management
CDE CAD's geofencing system allows administrators to define custom geographic zones on the map that serve operational purposes. Create patrol districts that correspond to your community's geography — downtown, industrial, residential, highway, and rural zones each with their own boundaries. When a call comes in within a specific zone, the system automatically suggests units assigned to that district first.
Zones can trigger automatic actions when units enter or leave them. Set up notifications for when a unit enters a restricted area, track time spent in each zone for patrol coverage analysis, or automatically update a unit's area assignment as they move between districts. Zone boundaries are drawn directly on the map through an intuitive polygon editor — no coding or coordinate entry required.
For communities with multiple jurisdictions, geofencing defines which department has primary responsibility for each area. When a call is placed in a county zone, county sheriff units are prioritized. City calls go to city police. This jurisdictional awareness adds another layer of realism to dispatch operations and prevents the common issue of units from the wrong agency being dispatched to calls outside their territory.
Map Layers and Customization
The live map supports multiple data layers that dispatchers and supervisors can toggle on and off based on their current needs. The default view shows active units and open calls, but additional layers include historical call density heatmaps, patrol route overlays, points of interest (hospitals, fire stations, police precincts), traffic camera locations, and custom markers placed by administrators.
Map styling is customizable to match your community's aesthetic preferences. Choose between different base map styles — dark mode for night operations, satellite view for geographic context, or a clean vector map for clarity. Custom map tiles can be uploaded for communities that use heavily modified game maps, ensuring the CAD map matches what players actually see in-game.
"The live map completely changed how we dispatch. Being able to see every unit's position and every active call on one screen gives us the kind of operational picture that makes roleplay feel genuinely professional."
Integration with FiveM
The live map's power comes from its deep integration with FiveM. CDE CAD uses a lightweight in-game resource that transmits unit positions to the CAD server without impacting game performance. The resource is optimized to use minimal bandwidth and CPU cycles, ensuring your server's tick rate stays healthy even with dozens of tracked units.
