MDT Lookup Commands: Complete Reference

Complete reference for MDT lookup commands in FiveM CAD systems. Learn how to search persons, vehicles, warrants, firearms, and more using the Mobile Data Terminal.

The Mobile Data Terminal is the officer's most powerful tool during patrol. With the right lookup commands, you can access criminal histories, vehicle registrations, active warrants, firearms records, and more - all without leaving your vehicle. This reference guide covers every lookup command available in CDE CAD's MDT system.

Person Lookup Commands

Name Search

Search by first name, last name, or both. The MDT returns all matching records with their date of birth, physical description, known addresses, and criminal history summary. Partial name searches are supported with wildcard matching.

Date of Birth Search

Search by date of birth when the name is unknown or to narrow results. Useful when you have a DOB from an ID but the name is unclear or potentially false.

ID Number Search

Search by the person\'s unique CAD ID number for exact record retrieval. This is the fastest lookup method when you have the ID from a previous encounter.

Physical Description Search

Search by physical characteristics including race, gender, height range, weight range, hair color, and eye color. Useful for identifying unknown suspects based on witness descriptions.

SSN/DL Number Search

Search by Social Security Number or Driver License number for exact identification. These unique identifiers return a single specific record.

Vehicle Lookup Commands

License Plate Search

The most common vehicle lookup. Enter the full plate number to retrieve the vehicle\'s make, model, year, color, registered owner, registration status, insurance status, and any flags (stolen, BOLO, suspended registration).

VIN Search

Search by Vehicle Identification Number for exact vehicle identification. Useful when plates are missing, obscured, or potentially swapped. The VIN is unique to each vehicle.

Owner Name Search

Search vehicles by the registered owner\'s name. Returns all vehicles registered to that person, useful for identifying additional vehicles associated with a suspect.

Make/Model Search

Search by vehicle make and model to find matching registrations. Helpful when you have a partial description from a witness but no plate number.

Stolen Vehicle Check

Check if a specific vehicle is reported stolen. This can be done through the plate search (stolen status is flagged automatically) or through a dedicated stolen vehicle database query.

Warrant & Criminal History Commands

Warrant Search by Name

Search for active warrants by the suspect\'s name. Returns all outstanding warrants including the type (arrest, search, bench), issuing judge, charges, and bail amount.

Warrant Search by Number

Look up a specific warrant by its warrant number. Returns the complete warrant details including the affidavit, authorized scope, and service instructions.

Criminal History Query

Pull the complete criminal history for a person, showing all arrests, citations, convictions, warrants (active and served), court appearances, and sentences. The most comprehensive record check available.

BOLO Check

Check if a person or vehicle matches any active Be On the Lookout alerts. The CAD can automatically cross-reference lookup results against the BOLO database.

Additional Lookup Commands

Firearms Registry Search

Search the firearms registry by serial number, registered owner, or weapon type. Returns registration details, purchase date, and any flags on the weapon.

Business Lookup

Search for registered businesses by name, owner, or address. Returns business license information, owner details, and any associated records.

Property Lookup

Search for registered properties by address or owner name. Returns ownership details, property type, and any associated incidents.

Call History Search

Search past dispatch calls by location, date range, or call type. Useful for identifying patterns or reviewing response history for a specific area.

Report Search

Search filed reports by case number, officer name, date range, or involved party. Access any previously filed report for reference or follow-up.

Quick Lookup Tips

Use Keyboard Shortcuts

Press Ctrl+P for person lookup, Ctrl+V for vehicle lookup, and Ctrl+W for warrant checks. These shortcuts open the search dialog instantly without navigating through menus.

Wildcard Searches

Use partial entries when you do not have complete information. Most MDT search fields support partial matching, so entering "Smi" in a name search will return Smith, Smithson, and similar.

Cross-Reference Results

When you find a person, check their vehicle registrations. When you find a vehicle, check the owner\'s criminal history. Cross-referencing builds a complete picture.

Save Frequent Searches

Use the MDT\'s bookmark feature to save frequently accessed records for quick retrieval during ongoing investigations or repeat offenders.
