Report Builder Overview
The CDE CAD report builder provides a structured system for creating professional reports across all department types. With over 30 report templates available, officers can quickly generate arrest reports, incident reports, crash reports, use of force reports, and many more specialized document types.
Selecting a Report Template
Choose the appropriate report template based on your situation. Each template includes pre-configured sections and fields relevant to that report type. Arrest reports prompt for suspect information and charges. Crash reports include vehicle damage assessment and diagram fields. Selecting the right template ensures you capture all necessary information.
Filling in Report Fields
Work through the report template systematically. Start with the header information including date, time, location, and involved parties. The report builder auto-fills some fields based on linked records, saving time and reducing errors. Enter your narrative in chronological order with specific details.
Linking Records and Evidence
The report builder integrates with other CDE CAD modules. Link person records, vehicle records, charges, evidence items, and witness statements directly within your report. These links create a connected web of documentation that supports thorough investigation and judicial review.
Submitting and Managing Reports
