How to Set Up Role Permissions in FiveM CAD

Guide to setting up role-based permissions in FiveM CAD. Access control, department roles, and admin configuration.

Permission System Overview

CDE CAD uses a hierarchical permission system that controls access to every feature in the platform. Permissions are assigned at the department and rank level, allowing you to create fine-grained access controls. The system ensures that officers see only the tools relevant to their role while supervisors and administrators get broader access.

Understanding Permission Categories

Permissions are organized into categories including Records (view, create, edit), Dispatch (manage calls, assign units), Reports (write, approve, delete), Administrative (manage members, departments), and Special (judicial access, warrant approval). Each category contains individual permission flags that can be toggled on or off.

Configuring Rank-Based Permissions

Navigate to your department settings and select the Permissions tab. For each rank, toggle the appropriate permissions. A typical patrol officer might have view records, write reports, and update status permissions. A sergeant adds report approval and BOLO management. Administrators get full access to all department functions.

Community-Level vs Department-Level Permissions

CDE CAD distinguishes between community-wide permissions and department-specific permissions. Community owners and administrators have global access across all departments. Department-level permissions apply only within that specific department context. This separation allows department leaders to manage their own teams independently.

Testing and Troubleshooting Permissions

After configuring permissions, test them by logging in as a member with each rank level. Verify that restricted features are properly hidden and that permitted features work correctly. If a member reports access issues, check their rank assignment and the corresponding permission configuration in the department settings.
