How to Run a Traffic Stop in FiveM RP with CAD

Complete guide to running a traffic stop in FiveM roleplay with CAD. MDT lookups, citations, and proper procedures.

Initiating the Traffic Stop

Running a proper traffic stop in FiveM roleplay starts before you even activate your lights. Using your MDT in CDE CAD, you should first run the vehicle plate through the system to check for any flags, stolen vehicle reports, or outstanding warrants associated with the registered owner. This pre-stop intelligence gives you critical information before making contact.

Running Person and Vehicle Lookups

Once you have the vehicle stopped, use the MDT person lookup to search the driver by name or identification. CDE CAD will return their full record including prior citations, arrest history, active warrants, license status, and vehicle registration information. Check whether the vehicle registration matches the driver and whether insurance is current.

Issuing Citations Through the MDT

If you determine a citation is warranted, CDE CAD makes it easy to issue one directly from your MDT. Select the appropriate violation from your community penal code, enter the fine amount, and associate it with the person record. The citation is automatically logged in the system and appears on the person record for future reference.

Writing Incident Reports

For traffic stops that escalate beyond a simple citation, you may need to write an incident report. CDE CAD provides report templates for various scenarios including DUI arrests, warrant arrests during traffic stops, vehicle searches, and contraband seizures. Fill in the narrative with specific details about what occurred during the stop.

Best Practices for Professional Stops

Professional traffic stops in FiveM roleplay follow a consistent pattern that mirrors real-world procedures. Always announce your traffic stop on the radio with your location and the vehicle description. Update your unit status in the CAD to show you are on a traffic stop. This keeps dispatch informed and allows backup to be sent if needed.
