Ten codes (10-codes) are brevity codes used by law enforcement and emergency services to communicate efficiently over radio. While real-world departments increasingly use plain language, ten codes remain popular in FiveM roleplay for their authenticity and efficiency. This guide covers all standard ten codes you'll encounter in roleplay servers. The police set was drawn up by APCO, the US public-safety communications association, between 1937 and 1940, and in 2006 the US federal government recommended agencies switch to plain language because no two used quite the same list (Wikipedia on ten-codes). That is also why two servers can disagree on what a code means.
