FiveM CAD Text-to-Speech: Audio Alerts for Dispatch, Panic & BOLO

CDE CAD features a built-in text-to-speech system that delivers audio alerts for panic buttons, BOLO notifications, dispatch calls, and warrant lookups. Supports browser TTS and ElevenLabs premium voices.

Audio Alerts Overview

Traditional CAD systems rely entirely on visual indicators - flashing icons, colored badges, and notification banners that only work when you are actively watching the screen. CDE CAD takes a fundamentally different approach by integrating a full text-to-speech engine directly into the dispatch platform. When a critical event occurs, the system does not just display it - it speaks it aloud. Dispatchers hear alerts announced through their speakers or headset. Officers receive audible notifications for events that demand immediate attention. The result is a dispatch experience where critical information reaches you through two channels simultaneously: visual and audio.

TTS Providers

To use ElevenLabs voices, you need an API key from your ElevenLabs account. Paste the key into CDE CAD's TTS settings, and the system validates it immediately. Once validated, you gain access to all available voices and can select the eleven_flash_v2_5 model for optimized real-time alert delivery. Voice selection includes a test playback button so you can preview each voice before making your choice.

Panic Button Audio Alerts

The panic button is the single most critical alert in any CAD system. When an officer is in danger and activates the panic button, every second counts. CDE CAD's TTS system ensures that panic alerts are not just seen - they are heard. The moment an officer hits the panic button, a distinct and urgent alarm tone plays for all connected dispatchers, immediately followed by a spoken alert that includes the officer's name and their last known location.

The panic alert uses a completely different alarm tone than standard 911 call notifications. It is sharp, urgent, and designed to cut through any ambient noise or conversation. A dispatcher could be in the middle of handling a routine call, and the panic TTS will immediately interrupt and demand attention. This mirrors how real dispatch centers handle officer emergency signals - they override everything. You cannot miss it, and that is the entire point. When an officer's safety is at stake, every dispatcher in the room knows about it instantly.

BOLO Alert Audio Notifications

Be On the Lookout alerts are time-sensitive by nature. When a suspect vehicle or person is identified, getting that information to every officer quickly can mean the difference between an apprehension and a missed opportunity. CDE CAD's TTS system delivers BOLO information through two distinct audio channels.

Dispatch & 911 Call Audio Alerts

The dispatch center is the nerve center of law enforcement operations, and 911 calls are its lifeblood. CDE CAD's TTS system keeps dispatchers informed of incoming calls, updates, and status changes through continuous audio feedback. This is especially valuable during high-volume periods when multiple calls are coming in simultaneously and a dispatcher cannot visually track every notification banner.

Warrant Lookup Audio Alerts

Running a name through the system is one of the most common actions an officer performs during a traffic stop or field interview. Most of the time, the result is clean - no warrants, no flags. But when active warrants are found, the officer needs to know immediately. CDE CAD's TTS system ensures that warrant hits are communicated audibly the instant the lookup result returns.

This feature is as much about officer safety as it is about convenience. During a traffic stop, the officer is typically standing outside their vehicle, maintaining visual contact with the driver, and checking mirrors for approaching traffic. Their attention is split between multiple tasks. A visual-only warrant notification requires the officer to look away from the situation and check their screen - exactly the wrong time to lose situational awareness. An audio alert delivers the critical warrant information directly through the officer's headset or vehicle speakers. The officer hears the warning, maintains situational awareness, and can adjust their approach accordingly before re-engaging with the driver. No screen-checking required during the most vulnerable moments of a stop.
