FiveM CAD System Requirements and Compatibility Guide 2026

Complete system requirements and compatibility guide for FiveM CAD systems in 2026. Covers browser requirements, server requirements, API compatibility, and performance optimization.

Before setting up a CAD system for your FiveM community, you need to understand the technical requirements. Since CDE CAD is cloud-hosted, the requirements are primarily on the client side - your browser and internet connection. This guide covers everything you need for optimal CAD performance in 2026.

Browser Requirements

Google Chrome (Recommended)

Chrome 100+ provides the best performance and compatibility with CDE CAD. Features like WebGL for LiveMap, WebSocket for real-time dispatch, and Service Workers for offline caching work optimally on Chrome.

Mozilla Firefox

Firefox 100+ is fully supported with excellent performance. All CAD features work correctly on Firefox including LiveMap, dispatch board, and real-time updates.

Microsoft Edge

Edge (Chromium-based) 100+ is fully supported. Since modern Edge uses the Chromium engine, compatibility and performance match Chrome.

Safari

Safari 16+ is supported with some limitations. WebGL performance for LiveMap may vary. For best experience on macOS, Chrome or Firefox is recommended.

Mobile Browsers

CDE CAD is responsive and works on mobile browsers including Chrome Mobile and Safari Mobile. However, the full desktop experience is recommended for dispatchers and officers due to the complex interface.

Internet and Network Requirements

Minimum Bandwidth

A stable internet connection with at least 5 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload. The CAD uses minimal bandwidth for most operations, but LiveMap and real-time dispatch require consistent connectivity.

Latency

Low latency (under 100ms to server) is recommended for real-time features. High latency causes delays in dispatch board updates, status changes, and LiveMap position tracking.

WebSocket Support

Your network must allow WebSocket connections for real-time features. Some corporate firewalls and restrictive networks block WebSockets - ensure port 443 (WSS) is open.

Stable Connection

Real-time features like the dispatch board and LiveMap require a stable, consistent connection. Frequent disconnections cause missed updates and require page refreshes.

FiveM Server Requirements

FiveM Server Build

Any recent FiveM server build is compatible. CDE CAD connects through a standalone API that is independent of the FiveM server version. No specific server build is required.

Framework Compatibility

CDE CAD is framework-agnostic. It works with ESX, QBCore, vRP, and custom frameworks. The API integration does not depend on any specific game framework.

API Resource

Install the CDE CAD FiveM resource on your server. This lightweight resource handles API communication, in-game MDT display, and data synchronization. Minimal server performance impact.

Server Configuration

Add the CDE CAD resource to your server.cfg and configure the API key and CAD URL. No database modifications or additional dependencies are required on the FiveM server.

Security Requirements

HTTPS Support

CDE CAD operates entirely over HTTPS. All data between your browser and the CAD servers is encrypted with TLS 1.2+. No additional SSL configuration is needed.

Discord Account

A Discord account is required for authentication. CDE CAD uses Discord OAuth for secure, passwordless login. Your Discord server must have the CDE CAD bot installed.

Browser Security Settings

Ensure your browser allows cookies and local storage for the CAD domain. Third-party cookie blockers may interfere with authentication. Whitelist the CAD URL if needed.

Content Security Policy

If you use a custom domain, ensure your CSP headers allow connections to the CDE CAD API endpoints. The support team can provide the necessary CSP directives.

Performance Optimization Tips

Close Unnecessary Tabs

Each browser tab consumes memory. Close tabs you do not need to free resources for the CAD. This is especially important for dispatchers running the LiveMap and dispatch board simultaneously.

Disable Unnecessary Extensions

Browser extensions can interfere with CAD performance. Disable ad blockers, privacy extensions, and other add-ons that may conflict with WebSocket connections or API requests.

Use a Dedicated Browser Profile

Create a separate browser profile for CAD use with minimal extensions and optimized settings. This isolates the CAD from other browsing activity and potential conflicts.

Hardware Acceleration

Enable hardware acceleration in your browser settings for improved rendering performance, especially for the LiveMap GPS tracking feature which uses WebGL.
