License Suspension & Management in CDE CAD
Learn how CDE CAD handles license suspensions in FiveM roleplay. Officers request suspensions, judges approve them, and the system tracks suspension status across all interactions. Full workflow from request to reinstatement.
Complete License Suspension Workflow
CDE CAD provides a full license suspension workflow that connects officers in the field with judicial staff in the courtroom. When an officer encounters a civilian whose driving conduct warrants a suspension, they submit a suspension request directly through the MDT. That request flows into the Judicial panel's "Suspension Requests" view, where judges review the evidence, make a decision, and update the civilian's license status - all within the CAD system. Every suspension is tracked against the civilian's record, and the status is visible to all officers during traffic stops, plate lookups, and name searches. No more guessing whether a civilian's license is valid. No more manually tracking suspensions in spreadsheets or Discord channels. The entire lifecycle - from request to approval to reinstatement - lives inside CDE CAD.
Officer Suspension Requests
Officers are the first link in the suspension chain. During a traffic stop, arrest, or while filing a report, an officer can flag a civilian's license for suspension review. The process is designed to be fast enough that it does not slow down active roleplay, while capturing all the information a judge needs to make an informed decision. Here is how officers submit suspension requests step by step:
Judicial Review Process
Once an officer submits a suspension request, it appears in the Judicial panel where judges and authorized judicial staff can review it. The judge sees all pending suspension requests in a queue, sorted by submission date. Each request displays the civilian's information, the requesting officer, the reason, and any linked evidence. The judge has four actions available:
Every judicial decision is logged in the action history with a timestamp, the judge's identity, and the decision details. This audit trail ensures accountability and provides a reference for future cases involving the same civilian. Toast notifications confirm each action so the judge has immediate visual feedback that their decision has been recorded in the system.
Suspension Types
CDE CAD supports five distinct suspension types, each designed for different scenarios and carrying different severity levels. Understanding these types helps officers file appropriate requests and gives judges a framework for consistent decision-making across your server:
Tracking Active Suspensions
The judicial dashboard provides a real-time overview of all active suspensions across the server. At a glance, judicial staff can see the total number of active suspensions, filter by type, and drill into individual records. Each suspension record contains the following fields:
For officers on patrol, suspension information is surfaced automatically during routine lookups. When an officer runs a plate number or searches a civilian's name in the MDT, the system displays the current license status alongside other record information. If the license is suspended, the MDT shows the suspension type, reason, and expected end date - giving the officer everything they need to handle the encounter appropriately. A civilian driving on a suspended license can be charged with an additional offense, creating a realistic escalation that mirrors real-world law enforcement procedures.
License Reinstatement
Suspensions are not permanent consequences (unless the license has been fully revoked). When a suspension period ends, or when a civilian has met all requirements for early reinstatement, judicial staff can restore their driving privileges through the reinstatement workflow. Reinstatement may require one or more of the following depending on the suspension type and server configuration:
Once all requirements are satisfied, the judicial staff member processes the reinstatement. The civilian's license status is updated to "Valid" across the entire CAD system. The reinstatement is logged in the civilian's record with the date, the authorizing judge, and any notes. Officers performing subsequent lookups will see the reinstated status along with the history of the previous suspension - providing valuable context for future interactions.
Roleplay Impact
License suspensions add a layer of consequence and continuity that elevates roleplay beyond individual encounters. When suspensions are tracked in the CAD system, every traffic stop becomes more meaningful because officers are checking license status as part of their standard procedure. Here is how suspensions enhance different roleplay scenarios:
