FiveM CAD Charge Management: Import, Export & Configure Your Legal System

Learn how to manage charges and penal codes in CDE CAD. Import charges via CSV, export your legal system, configure categories, link charges to reports, and build a complete criminal justice framework for your FiveM server.

Charge System Overview

CDE CAD's charge management system lets you build a complete legal framework for your roleplay server. Whether you are starting from scratch or migrating from another CAD, the system provides flexible tools for creating and managing your entire penal code database. Create individual charges one at a time through the admin interface, or bulk import hundreds of charges in seconds using CSV files. Every charge you create links directly to fines, jail times, and report types - forming the backbone of your server's criminal justice system. Officers reference these charges during traffic stops and arrests, fines flow into the financial system, and criminal history records build automatically as charges are filed. The charge management system is designed to handle everything from a small community with 30 charges to a large server with 500 or more detailed penal codes.

Creating Individual Charges

The most straightforward way to build your charge database is by creating charges one at a time through the Admin Panel. Navigate to Admin Panel > Charges to access the charge management interface. From here, you can add new charges, edit existing ones, and delete charges that are no longer needed. Each charge requires several fields that define how it behaves within the system:

CSV Import: Bulk Import Charges

Creating charges one at a time works well for small additions, but when you need to populate your entire legal system - or migrate from another CAD - bulk CSV import is the way to go. CDE CAD's CSV import tool lets you import hundreds of charges in seconds from a properly formatted spreadsheet file. This is especially valuable for communities migrating from another system or using pre-built penal code lists shared by other FiveM communities.

CSV Export: Backup and Share Your Charges

Just as you can import charges from CSV, you can export your entire charge database to a standard CSV file at any time. The export includes every charge with all associated fields - name, code, category, fine amount, jail time, and description. This feature serves multiple critical purposes for community management:

Charge Categories

Linking Charges to Reports

Charges do not exist in isolation - they connect to every part of the law enforcement workflow. When officers file reports in CDE CAD, they select charges from the configured charge list, and the system handles the rest. Here is how charges integrate with reports and the broader judicial system:

Bulk Operations and Database Management

As your charge database grows, efficient management becomes critical. CDE CAD provides several tools for working with large numbers of charges at once, so you spend less time on administration and more time running your server:

Charge Management Checklist

Use this checklist to ensure your charge management system is fully configured and ready for live roleplay. Work through each item to build a complete, well-organized legal framework for your server:
