Certifying officers in a FiveM roleplay community

Most roleplay certification is a screenshot

Somebody passes a class, an admin posts a message in a staff channel, and that is the record. It survives exactly as long as the channel does, and it means nothing to anybody outside the server. Six months later the officer is a supervisor and nobody can say what they were signed off on.

Two stages, because one is not enough

A pass mark says somebody knew the material on the day. A sign-off says a person with authority agreed they should be certified. CDE Academy records both against the certificate, so a graduation traces to who approved it rather than to a message somebody may have deleted.

A credential ID, so the record leaves the server

Every certificate carries an ID and a public URL. Anyone can check the course, the issuing community and the date without an account on either side. When a member transfers out, their training goes with them instead of staying behind in a Discord they were removed from.

Expiry is a feature, not an oversight

Certifications that never lapse stop meaning anything. Set an expiry on the ones that should be refreshed, and an expired certificate still verifies as genuine rather than as fake, which is the honest answer: it was validly issued and needs renewing.
