CAD Troubleshooting: Common Issues and Solutions

Troubleshooting guide for common FiveM CAD issues. Solutions for login problems, performance issues, API errors, Discord integration issues, and other technical problems.

Even the best CAD systems occasionally encounter issues. This troubleshooting guide provides step-by-step solutions for the most common problems CAD administrators and users encounter. Bookmark this page for quick reference.

Login and Authentication Issues

Discord OAuth Login Fails

Verify the Discord bot is online with proper permissions. Check OAuth redirect URL configuration. Clear browser cookies and cache, then retry. Re-authorize the bot if needed.

Access Denied After Login

The user has not been assigned a role in the CAD. An administrator needs to assign them to a department and rank through the user management panel.

Session Expired Errors

Sessions expire after inactivity for security. Log in again. Check browser settings to ensure cookies are not being blocked or cleared automatically.

Two-Factor Authentication Issues

If 2FA authenticator is unavailable, an administrator can reset 2FA through the admin panel. Always keep backup codes in a safe location.

Performance Issues

Slow Page Loading

Clear browser cache and cookies. Disable interfering extensions. Try incognito/private window. If persistent across users, contact support for server-side investigation.

Dispatch Board Lag

Check internet connection stability. The dispatch board uses real-time WebSocket connections requiring stable connectivity. Close unnecessary browser tabs.

LiveMap Not Loading

Ensure browser allows location services and WebGL. Try Chrome or Firefox for best compatibility. Check that ad blockers are not interfering with map tiles.

Search Results Slow

Use specific search criteria rather than broad queries. Include as many search parameters as possible to narrow results and improve query speed.

API and Integration Issues

FiveM Server Not Connecting

Verify API key in FiveM server configuration. Check API endpoint URL. Ensure firewall allows outbound connections to CAD API. Test with a simple GET request.

In-Game MDT Not Working

Confirm MDT resource is started in server.cfg. Check resource console for errors. Verify API key and CAD URL in resource settings. Restart resource after changes.

Discord Webhooks Not Firing

Check webhook URLs in CAD settings. Verify Discord channel exists and webhook is active. Test with the admin panel test notification feature.

Data Not Syncing

Check API connection status. Verify server script is running and processing API responses. Review server console logs for error messages.

User and Permission Issues

User Cannot Access Department

Verify correct department and rank assignment in admin panel. Check that department is active. Some features require specific rank levels.

Reports Not Saving

Ensure all required fields are filled. Check character limits. Verify stable internet connection during submission. Try saving as draft first.

Cannot Create Characters

Check if maximum character limit has been reached. Verify civilian portal is enabled for the role. Some communities restrict character creation.

Missing Features or Menu Items

Features are tied to roles and permissions. Check the permission matrix in admin panel and adjust role permissions as needed.
